26 квітня 2024 р. відбудеться 77-ма Міжнародна конференція молодих вчених "Каразінські читання (Історичні науки)" в онлайн форматі.

У межах пленарного засідання о 13:30 відбудеться гостьова лекція професорки Йоркського університету Генріки Елтінк "Деколонізуючи історію" / Prof. Henrice Altink “Decolonising history”.

Since the Rhodes must Fall and the Black Lives Matter movements, historians have reflected on what decolonising means for their field. Some leading journals such as History Workshop Journal have even published roundtables on how to decolonise history. This presentation first of all traces the evolution of the ‘decolonial turn’ in history and summarises what the concept refers to. It then moves on to discuss how historians can decolonise history, listing several issues they should be paying attention to ranging from the design of their project to the research and finally the publications and public engagement. The paper concentrates on global history, particularly the history of colonial and postcolonial states.
